This deck was only 6 months old when the home owner decided to have it protected from the elements. It is highly recommended to have your new wood deck stained/sealed within the first year of its existence. After a light soap and wash this deck was ready to be treated and protected from the harsh elements.
After the deck was completely dried from being washed it was stained with a Wood Defender transparent type stain in order to maintain a natural look as opposed to a “painted” finish. The Wood Defender products which we use absorbs into the core of the wood and seals it from the inside out while still allowing the wood to breathe after it is treated. The transparent nature of this particular color allows the wood grain of this new deck to still show.
