These set of gutters were on this home that we were awarded the job to clean the roof of the algae that was taking over. This 2500+ sq. ft. ranch style home was in overall great shape but could benefit from our services. During the roof cleaning process the home owner was able to see the transformation of the roof and saw how much the new look roof seemed to “shine.” After taking a few steps around to the other side of the property it was clear that the gutters were in need of cleaning also, so the home owner entrusted that task to us as well.
The gutter cleaning process, when done correctly, can make a home’s dirty guters appear to be like newly installed gutters, or freshly painted ones. One key to a “perfect” gutter wash is the proper soaps and detergents used…washing gutters with bleach alone WILL NOT get the job done with prefessional results. The cleaning process also involves proper dwell time to ensure that the soaps do not dry on the surface, as this will create dried soap marks along the gutter as it is being cleaned. A soft bristle (not too firm that it can scratch the paint on the gutters) brush may be required in some cases to agitate tougher stains to become loose. As the gutters are soaped and brushed in 6-8 ft sections, it is rinsed off with low pressure (equivalent to garden hose) to prevent the chance of high pressure damaging the facia, soffit, shingles, or removing paint from gutters that are painted.
